Introducing Positive Life Patterns

Introducing Positive Life Patterns

What a tremendous week we have had this week at PWC. We were all encouraged by our study of I John to live and love like Jesus. His love is transforming, renewing, refreshing.  We also introduced a new opportunity for you to grow and connect with God’s word each week.  Here’s the official announcement.

Positive Woman Connection is excited to present, Positive Life Patterns, a PWC resource. Positive Life Patterns is a basic discipleship class hosted via conference call with Author and Speaker, Teresa G. Lusk. Positive Life Patterns will utilize Scriptures and Biblical Counseling principles to pave the way into new life patterns because God’s Word is powerful and effective for anything!

Plan to be a part of this call Thursdays from 12:00-12:30 PM at no cost to you and no pre-registration required. Simply dial (712) 432-0800 access code 814451.

Promise Keeper

The Lord kept his word and did…

 exactly what he had promised.

Genesis 21:1

If God promised it, He will do it. We can trust God’s word, and He is able to bring it to pass. Sarah found it hard to believe that God would give her a child in her old age. When she heard God’s promise of a child, she laughed. But God is not hindered by our doubts or our inabilities. If He promised it, He will bring it to pass.

God’s timetable is different than ours. He is not slack about his promises, although from our perspective it may seem as though He has forgotten.  George Mueller was a man of prayer who believed whole-heartedly in the promises of God.  He would only pray for what was promised in God’s word, and he wouldn’t pray for anything unless he first found it in scripture and could put his finger on the promise. A great example to us all.

Are you willing to place your trust in God’s faithfulness? Walk in the confidence of God’s love and care for you, and believe He will bring about what He promises.

Father, thank you for faithfully loving us and keeping your promises. We trust your word.

Happy New Year

In our study of I John, we will continue to grow in our understanding of this powerful epistle. Our lesson is entitled, “Stumble No More,” and we will be learning about what it means to walk in the light of God’s love rather than stumbling in the darkness.

Mark your calendars now as you make your plans to join us, and think about someone you can invite to join you at  Positive Woman Connection.   I look forward to seeing you and your friends soon.

Here is a devotional from my new book coming out mid-December entitled Pursuing God in the Quiet Places.

Faithful and True

He is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations.

Deuteronomy 7:9

Faithful, and loyal; our Lord God keeps his promises to His people throughout the generations. He can be trusted. Perhaps you have felt the pain of a disloyal friend or unfaithful spouse or back-stabbing co-worker. The pain can run deep when you feel as though you have been betrayed. Our hearts long for someone we can believe in, someone we can trust, and someone who will be faithful through thick or thin.  The Lord your God is that faithful One.  We can place our lives into His hands for He will never abandon us or leave us. We are His beloved and His faithfulness is sure.

He keeps His promises. He does not promise a perfect life or that your pathway will be challenge-free, but He does promise to be with you and be your strength through those rough times.  As His beloved follower, He will never leave you or forsake you. Take a moment right now to thank Him for His great faithfulness and dwell on His faithful love throughout the day today.

A Great Start to the Holidays

A Great Start to the Holidays

We had a tremendous time at both of our Christmas events this past week.  At Prestonwood Country Club we enjoyed a room full of laughter and fellowship along with some great food and a tremendous lesson about Jesus as our Advocate. The perfect message for us to start the holidays off bright! The Cottonwood Creek group met at Karol’s home for a truly delightful time as well.

Our prayer is that you will experinence God’s love in a new and fresh way as you find your comfort and joy in Him this holiday season.  Embrace His unfailing love for you and reflect His gracefilled love toward others each day.

We look forward to seeing you in January. Mark your calendars now and think about who you can invite. Tuesday, January 24 in North Dallas at Prestonwood Country Club. 12:00 – 1:00. RSVP to Donna at dskell@roaringlambsministries.org

Happy Thanksgiving!

Enter his gates with thanksgiving;

For the Lord is good.

and his faithfulness continues to each generation.  Psalm 100:4,5

Being Real in a Glitzy World

Being Real in a Glitzy World

As we see the Christmas decorations going up with all the glitz and glamour, it’s easy to feel a sense of tension as the pressures of the holiday approach.   We want to focus on the “Real” meaning of Christmas, but to be quite honest it’s not that easy. This month at PWC, we will be gleaning great truths from 1 John. Our lesson will focus on being real. In other words being honest with God about who we are and what we have done. Being real also brings us to our need for a Real Savior – God’s One and Only.

I hope you will join us for our special Holiday PWC luncheons in November.

In North Dallas, we will meet at Prestonwood country Club (on Preston, just north of Arapaho). Tuesday, November 29, 12:00- 1:00.  RSVP to Donna Skell   dskell@roaringlambsministries.org Buffet Luncheon $20.

Our Allen group will be meeting at a special location on Wednesday, November 30 12:30 – 1:30.

Looking Forward to seeing you soon

He is our Light

He is our Light

We had a wonderful time last week at Positive Woman Connection. The topic of study was 1 John 1:1-7. We focused on the truth that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with God, yet walk in the darkness – we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship (partnership) with Him, and the blood of Christ Jesus His Son purifies us from all sin. What a glorious truth!  How wonderful that we can call God “our Father” and have fellowship with Him through Jesus. How marvelous to think that in Christ we are purified from all sin. Thank you Father! May we shine your light so brightly that those who are in darkness may hear Your voice and be drawn to You.

I can’t wait until we meet together in November, after Thanksgiving. Mark your calendars now for our holiday Positive Woman Connections.  The topic will be, “Being Real in a Glamorized World.”

In north Dallas we will meet at Prestonwood Country Club on Tuesday, November 29 for lunch and learning from 12:00 – 1:00.  The cost of the buffet lunch is $20. RSVP to Donna at 972-380-0123

Or dskell@roaringlambsministries.org

In Allen we usually meet at Cottonwood Creek, but for our November luncheon we will be at a special location. The date is November 30, 12:30 – 1:30.  This will be our holiday potluck so bring your favorite dish. RSVP to Sandy at Prowant@cottonwoodcreek.org to find out this month’s special location.

Our monthly prayer time will be on November 18 this month.  At 17110 Dallas Parkway, suite 280, 8:00am

Great Reward

Great Reward

Do not be afraid….

I am your shield,

your very great reward.

Genesis 15:1

            God is not only
our shield, He is also our very great reward.
Notice that He did not say He would give Abram a very great reward, rather
He is the great reward. Those who know Him and abide with Him have the
most wonderful blessing, the great reward of the God of all creation participating
in their lives.

What more could we want? What greater reward could there be than
experiencing a love relationship with the Lord God who is the creator of the
Heavens and the Earth? We are rich indeed when we recognize that we have
received the greatest reward in all eternity.
The Lord God is our reward! His Spirit dwells with us. He is our shield.
We do not need to be afraid for He is all we need. Father, thank you for
your presence in our lives. In You we have the greatest reward man can ever receive
– Your Spirit within us.

This is
from my new devotional coming out in December, Pursuing God in the Quiet
